IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project " SUMME_One Health"

The National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Sustainable Management of Marine Ecosystems: A One-Health Approach in the Gulf of Gabes, with a Comparative Analysis of the Gulf of Gela in Sicily - SUMME_One Health", under the Interreg NEXT Italy-Tunisia.
The objective of the Interreg project "SUMME_One Health" aims to assess the ecotoxicological risks associated with emerging pollutants in the Gulf of Gabès (Tunisia) and the Gulf of Gela (Italy), using a ‘One Health’ approach that analyses the interactions between human, animal and environmental health. The project also involves the design of nano-biofilters to initiate decontamination actions, promote a healthy environment and contribute to sustainable development.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities:
• Assist the organisation and coordination of project-related events, workshops and technical meetings at national and international levels;
• Assist in preparing agendas, drafting minutes, and facilitating communication between project partners;
• Contribute to the drafting of project communications, technical reports, deliverables, and other documents in line with Interreg requirements;
• Assist in the design and dissemination of communication materials (infographics, posters, brochures, newsletters) to enhance the visibility and outreach of the project;
• Contribute to data entry, database management, and basic statistical analysis to support research outputs;
• Participate in field sampling campaigns, laboratory preparation, and documentation of environmental parameters;
• In addition to technical and communication assistance, the volunteer will also contribute to the implementation of a hydrodynamic model, including data collection, processing, and analysis.

Financial support of: 35.68 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Salammbô, Tunis, Tunisia
Start and duration: Starting in June, for 6 months.
Deadline for applications: 10 May.
Languages*: Arabic (C1-2), French (C1-2) and English (C1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the required minimum level of command to be considered for the position.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
