IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "TEXAD"
Support circular textile waste solutions for European municipalities.
Municipality of Stara Zagora is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “TEXAD - Advanced Circular Textile Waste Solutions for European Municipalities", under the Programme Interreg Europe.
The objective of the Interreg project "TEXAD" is to improve and drive municipal policy instruments towards a circular model. This includes prevention, proper sorting, collection, and valorisation of textile waste.
The volunteer will be carrying out tasks and activities:
Support the implementation of the TEXAD pilot action in Stara Zagora Municipality, including activities related to textile repair, reuse and upcycling;
Assist in preparing and testing the equipped container, supporting workshops and demonstrations for citizens, collecting examples of good practices, contributing ideas for creative textile reuse, and supporting communication and dissemination activities related to the pilot action;
Supporting the project's communication and dissemination activities;
Assisting in the organisation of meetings, events, and study visits;
Preparing informational and promotional materials;
Supporting activities related to the exchange of good practices among project partners;
Assisting with the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the project.
Other information:
Financial support of: 34.60 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Zagora, Bulgaria.
Start and duration: April, for 6 months.
Languages*: English (B1), Bulgarian (A1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.
Skills such as basic sewing machine operation (lockstitch and overlock/serger machines), basic pattern-cutting, and the ability to work with cutting tools (fabric scissors, rotary cutters, etc.) are considered an advantage.

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 21.48 EUR to 92.96 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience, if needed.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.

Visa
Volunteers are responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate visa, residence permit, or any other authorization required to legally enter, reside, and carry out their volunteering activity in the hosting country. Once selected, volunteers are expected to complete all necessary administrative procedures, and submit the required documentation to the relevant authorities. For eligible volunteers relocating between countries participating in the IVY initiative, IVY will reimburse the costs associated with obtaining the required visa, and provide invitation letters and proof of financial means. However, the responsibility for identifying the correct visa, preparing the application, and completing the necessary formalities remains with the volunteer.
