IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "StrategyMedFor"
Support the sustainable management of Mediterranean forests.
The European Topic Center of University of Malaga (ETC-UMA) is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “StrategyMedFor", under the Interreg Programme "Euro-MED".
The objective of the Interreg project "StrategyMedFor" is the development of a Strategy for Sustainable Management of Mediterranean Forests (SSMMF) targeted to each forest type & adapted to foreseeable climate scenarios..
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
1. Basic GIS tasks:
- 
- Support the use, exploration and description of data and spatial data through GIS software.
- Support spatial data identification, compilation and database population.
- Support the synthesis of results from spatial and statistical analyses and preparation of materials to maximize its impact through communication.
- 
2. Communication and dissemination of results tasks:
- Support the production of written and visual content for the promotion of the project via social media, and website.
- Support the synthesis of targeted policy recommendations based on the Strategy for Sustainable Management of Mediterranean Forests.
3. Event organization tasks:
- Support the preparation of the project´s final event to be held in Spring, 2025.
- Support online workshops.
Other information:
Financial support of: 29 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Málaga, Spain.
Start and duration: As soon as possible, for 6 month(s).
Languages*: English (C1), French (B2), Spanish (B1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

          Financial supportEvery volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day. 
- 
          InsuranceIVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience. 
- 
          Contribution to travel costsTravel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence.
