Support the reduction of light pollution in central Europe and help to maintain assets for biodiversity and sustainable development.
The Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica INAF (National Institute for Astrophysics) is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “DARKERSKY4CE", under the Interreg Programme "Central Europe".
The objective of the Interreg project "DARKERSKY4CE" is to reduce light pollution in central Europe by raising awareness and promoting dark skies as a valuable asset for biodiversity and sustainable development.
The volunteer will be carrying out communication and implementation activities:
- Support project communication activities;
- Support and facilitate the transnational dimension of the project target beneficiaries (being in close contact with the project target beneficiaries on the topic of project deliverables mentioned below to facilitate transnational cooperation);
- Contribute to information research and data gathering related to the topic of light pollution in Central Europe;
- Contribute to the development of the Dynamic Monitoring Tool (a tool to assess the evolution and the perception of the actions taken);
- Contribute to the preparation and administration of the surveys and communicate the results;
- Contribute to the deployment of the Photometer Network (a network of devices that monitor light pollution in non-urban areas).
Other information:
Financial support of: 32 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Pino Torinese, Italy.
Start and duration: as soon as possible, for 6 month(s).
Languages*: English (C1), Italian (C1)
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
