IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "RES2FIRE"
Support wildfire resilience in protected natural areas
PSRI Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, Banja Luka is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “RES2FIRE - Models and Tools for Enhancing the Resistance and the Resilience to Wildfire in Natural Protected Areas and Wildland-Urban Interfaces", under the Programme "Interreg IPA ADRION".
The objective of the Interreg project "RES2FIRE" is to harmonise and transfer models and tools for climate change adaptation by increasing resilience to forest fires.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
- Attend and actively participate in working group meetings, meeting, network with project partners, and gain insights into the collaborative efforts within the project.
- Assist in drafting a brochure on fire behaviour and help its promotion;
- Assist in analysing and reporting on the environmental and socio-economic damages caused by forest fires;
- Participate in developing and implementing the dissemination strategy, targeting various stakeholder groups across IPA Adrion regions, including preparing materials for the project website, social media accounts, promotional videos, newsletters, etc;
- Prepare content for the Institute's social media platforms, reporting on the implementation progress of the RES2FIRE project;
- Assist in organizing a technical meeting, where the Institute will host all project partners, contribute to the preparation of materials for the event, manage media posts, and ensure smooth organization.
Other information:
Financial support of: 31 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Start and duration: March, for 4/6 months.**
Languages*: Serbian (C2), English (B2).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.
**The termination date of the volunteering agreement depends on the conclusion of the IVY initiative, currently set for 30 June 2025. If the IVY initiative is extended, the volunteering mission may continue for a maximum total duration of six months.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
