Support the Preservation of Sturgeon and Sustainability in the Black Sea Basin.
Protection of biodiversity in Bulgaria Foundation is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “SturNet - Network for the Preservation of Sturgeon and for the Sustainability of the Black Sea Basin Ecosystem", under the Programme "Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin".
The objective of the Interreg project "SturNet" is to protect sturgeon populations and preserve the Black Sea Basin's unique ecosystem. Through collaborative research, data collection and model development, the habitat protection efforts will support the sustainable development of the region’s natural resources.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities and tasks:
- Participate in project meetings and local activities;
- Develop and implement outreach activities to raise awareness about sturgeon conservation;
- Create content and design: educational materials and social media content to engage the public and stakeholders; utilize tools like Canva or other design platforms;
- Manage the social media accounts by scheduling posts, responding to messages and comments, and fostering online interaction;
- Help with administrative tasks such as tracking project Dissemination plan progress;
- Contribute to brainstorming and provide feedback for stakeholders engagement activities for all SturNet partners;
- Participate in events and workshops to promote the importance of the Black Sea Basin ecosystem;
- Assist in promoting and organizing project-related events;
- Engage with local communities to foster a sense of solidarity and environmental stewardship.
Other information:
Financial support of: 26 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Burgas, Bulgaria.
Start and duration: May, for 2/6 month(s)*.
Languages**: English (C1).
*The termination date of the volunteering agreement depends on the conclusion of the IVY initiative, currently set for 30 June 2025. If the IVY initiative is extended, the volunteering mission may continue for a maximum total duration of six months.
**Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
