Support sustainable community building in Vienna and Bratislava
GLOBAL 2000 - Umweltschutzorganisation is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Mestá.Záhrady.Rozmanitost / Städte.Gärten.Vielfalt", under the Programme "Interreg Slovakia - Austria".
The objective of the Interreg project "Mestá.Záhrady.Rozmanitost / Städte.Gärten.Vielfalt" is to combine community building with nature conservation activities and measures to restore and preserve biodiversity in Vienna and Bratislava. Its aim is to make urban green spaces more liveable for people and (small) wildlife.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
- Assisting in transnational online and personal meetings;
- Help to connect with local communities to raise awareness about the project, its goals, and the services offered. This will involve conducting participatory community events, distributing information, or organizing local meetings and events;
- Support with organizing the logistics of public garden events, such as coordinating transportation, managing supplies, or setting up equipment for activities in the field;
- Creating Engaging Content: Crafting posts, graphics, videos, and infographics that are visually appealing, informative, and aligned with the project’s message. The content might include updates, success stories, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or educational material relevant to the project’s goals.
Other information:
Financial support of: 35 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Vienna, Austria.
Start and duration: 1st May, for 2/6 months.*
Languages**: English (B2); German (B1).
*The termination date of the volunteering agreement depends on the conclusion of the IVY initiative, currently set for 30 June 2025. If the IVY initiative is extended, the volunteering mission may continue for a maximum total duration of six months.
**Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
