IVY Project Partner for the Interreg projects "PROMOS" and "CEDRIC"
Support two cross-border projects between Italy and Austria.
The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology ICGEB is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg projects “PROMOS" and "CEDRIC", under the Programme "Interreg Italy-Austria".
PROMOS intends to promote the Italian-Austrian biomedical ecosystem and the creation of new biomedical SMEs through cross-border technology transfer from the academic world to the market and the clinic.
CEDRIC aims to restore biodiversity in degraded soils through microbiome transplantation and to increase awareness of this knowledge by establishing a cross-border platform for stakeholder interaction and access to Good Agricultural Practices manuals.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
- Support the monitoring of project activities and preparation of project deliverables.
- Engage with project stakeholders: supporting the creation and implementation of an international biomedical network.
- Support the organisation of project events: Innovation Camp (training event), Innovation Meetings (biomedical fair, Cell Terapy Crossborder Forum and participate in the creation of local outreach events to promote Interreg projects (EC Day, ERN, Trieste Next Festival of Scientific Research).
- Contribute to knowledge dissemination: Writing posts and creating engaging content for social media and project websites and preparing a project brochure to promote project scientific and technical activities and results for society.
- Online search for documents, videos or other content relevant to the CEDRIC topic for uploading to the project knowledge tree.
Other information:
Financial support of: 31.76 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Trieste, Italy.
Start and duration: January 2026, for 6 months.
Languages*: Italian (C1), English (C1), German (B1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
