IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "EasyPEST"
Support climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention in the Black Sea Basin
Giresun Governorship is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “EasyPEST - Establishing long-term monitoring system for plant pests around the Black Sea", under the Programme "Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin".
The objective of the Interreg project "easyPEST" is to establish a long-term, cross-border monitoring and early warning system for invasive alien insect pests affecting forests, agricultural areas and urban green spaces in the Black Sea Basin.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
Supporting communication and dissemination activities related to trainings, workshops, field studies and pilot actions by documenting these activities through photos, short videos and brief written content
Contributing to the visibility of citizen science activities, including the promotion of trainings for citizen scientists and awareness-raising actions targeting local communities and young people
Assisting in the communication of project outputs, such as the AI-based platform, pilot tests and public events, by translating technical content into accessible and youth-friendly messages
Supporting the promotion of public events and cross-border activities, including the final cross-border public event, through digital communication and social media content
Contributing to storytelling and reporting activities that highlight cross-border cooperation, solidarity and the involvement of citizens within the easyPEST project
Supporting IVY-related communication by sharing volunteering experiences and reflections that promote Interreg and European Territorial Cooperation.
Other information:
Financial support of: 28.08 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Giresun, Türkiye.
Start and duration: May, for 6 months.
Deadline for applications: 22 February 2026
Languages*: Turkish (B2), English (B2)

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
