IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "Green Urban Resilience"
Support sustainable green climate solutions.
Municipality of Kavala is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Green Urban Resilience", under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin programme
The objective of the Interreg project "Green Climate Change Adaptation Solutions for Smart and Resilient Cities in Black Sea Basin - Green Urban Resilience" addresses the global challenge of climate change, particularly its impact on urban areas within the Black Sea Basin. As cities are increasingly affected by extreme heat waves, the project aims to develop sustainable green climate solutions through cross-border cooperation and the integration of local government planning. The initiative involves the creation of an International Urban LANDLAB to assist cities in measuring heat stress and developing Heat Resilience Strategles.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities:
Support the practical implementation of urban greening actions (e.g. presence during tree planting activities, urban garden initiatives, public space interventions);
Assist in the organization and facilitation of community events, workshops, and awareness-raising activities related to climate resilience and green urban spaces.
Support communication and visibility actions of the project (preparing short texts, photos, social media content, visual material);
Collect stories, feedback, and good practices from citizens and local stakeholders involved in project activities;
Contribute with creative ideas for engaging young people and local communities with the project’s objectives.
