IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "REWMA"
Support the response to the rapid spread of invasive aquatic species in the Czechia-Bavaria border region.
University of South Bohemia is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “REWMA - Odolné vody: Řízení akvatických invazí pro udržitelné ekosystémy / Widerstandsfähige Gewässer: Management von aquatischen Invasionen für nachhaltige Ökosysteme", under the Programme "Interreg Germany/Bavaria-Czechia".
The Interreg project "REWMA" focuses on the spread of invasive aquatic species, causing economic losses, habitat damage and the disappearance of native species, in the cross-border area of the Czech Republic and Bavaria. These invasive species are mainly fish, crayfish and large bivalves.
The aim of the project is to provide up-to-date data on the occurrence and spread of invasive species and the level of threat to native fish, crayfish and large bivalves.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following tasks and activities:
report on the activities and other information connected with the project on social media, at workshops, etc;
communicate with local media and stakeholders;
assist the organisation with field activities to gain a better understanding of the research work and gain more practical experience.
Other information:
Financial support of: 29.08 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: České Budějovice, Czech Republic.
Start and duration: June, for 6 months.
Languages*: Czech (C1), English (B1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
