IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "PEACE-Air"
Support the improvement air quality and protect public health across Northern Ireland and Ireland.
ERNACT EEIG is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “PEACE-Air - Partnership for Evidence and Action on Clean Air", under the Interreg PEACE Plus programme.
The objective of the Interreg project "PEACE-Air" is to build a Partnership for Evidence and Action on Clean Air (PEACE-Air). This partnership will work cross-border to improve air quality through strategic engagement, research and activities supporting policies and actions across the island of Ireland. PEACE-Air will provide scientific evidence on air pollution sources to inform emission reduction policies, raise awareness on the detrimental health effects of air pollution, and its causes, build capacity for clean air research and action, encourage behavioural changes, and strengthen enforcement against air pollution.
The volunteer will support the implementation of communication, stakeholder engagement, citizen participation and dissemination activities within the PEACE-Air project.
Their tasks will include:
Supporting the organisation and promotion of project events, workshops, seminars and public engagement activities across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Assisting with the preparation of communication materials, including newsletters, website articles, social media content, photographs, videos and promotional resources.
Supporting project dissemination activities to ensure research findings, project outputs and key messages reach relevant target audiences.
Assisting with stakeholder engagement activities involving public authorities, community organisations, schools, environmental groups and other project stakeholders.
Supporting citizen science initiatives, including activities designed to engage schools and young people in understanding and monitoring air quality within their local communities.
Assisting with the coordination of school engagement activities, educational events and awareness-raising campaigns aimed at young people.
Supporting the collection of feedback, success stories and examples of good practice arising from project activities. Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations and communication materials highlighting project achievements and impacts.
Supporting cross-border cooperation activities by helping to facilitate communication and engagement between project partners and stakeholders from both jurisdictions.
Contributing to the visibility of EU and PEACEPLUS support through project communication and outreach activities.
Other information:
Financial support of: 58.84 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Letterkenny, Co Donegal, Ireland.
Start and duration: Starting in September, for 6 months.
Deadline for application: 12 July

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
