IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "BIOBLACK"

The Karadeniz Technical University is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “BIOBLACK - Raising Awareness for the Black Sea People to Recognize and Protect Black Sea Biodiversity", under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin programme.
The objective of the Interreg project "BIOBLACK" is is to introduce marine organisms to raise public awareness about the Black Sea biodiversity. This will be achieved through the use of digital IT tools, the establishment of a food pyramid (food web) consisting of marine organisms (miniature) derived from 3D printer, Citizen Science, sea survey etc. The more informed Black Sea people especially young generation about marine organisms, they may give more attention to protect their Black Sea ecosystem..
The volunteer will be carrying out the follow activities:
Communication and dissemination activities related to the BIOBLACK project, including preparation of content for social media, website updates, newsletters, and information materials, photos and other visibility materials as well as basic data collection related to communication and stakeholder engagement activities, under the supervision of the mentor
Raising awareness among local communities and stakeholders about biodiversity of the Black Sea and its importance of the sustainable protection of the marine environment.
Organization and implementation of project events, workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities.
Engagement with local stakeholders, beneficiaries and partner organizations to promote the project’s objectives and Interreg’s role.
Other information:
Financial support of: 28.08 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Trabzon, Türkiye
Start and duration: Starting in August, for 6 months.
Deadline for application: 12 July
Languages*: Turkish (C1-C2) and English (B1).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 23 to 39 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.
