IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "SMEOrigin"
Support the competitiveness of SMEs in the food sector.
The University of Patras is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “SMEOrigin - SMEs & European Original Geographical Indications", under the Interreg Europe programme.
The objective of the Interreg project "SMEOrigin" is to improve regional development policies and funding programmes aiming at increasing the competitiveness of SMEs in the food sector. More specifically, the project has been designed to foster products with a geographical indication (PDO/PGI) in the involved regions by improving the quality standards of SMEs, fostering their digital transformation, and promoting the authenticity of the products.
The volunteer will support the following activities:
Participate in bilateral meetings with stakeholders and support project staff in organizing these meetings. Volunteer will participate in online project meetings with the other partners of the project.
Contribute to the monitoring of relevant calls from the Region of Western Greece and will accordingly inform the local stakeholders and PDO/PGI producers.
Contribute to resolving legal issues related to PDO/PGI products. For example, the sweet PDO Mavrodaphne wine cannot be produced in its dry form based on legal restrictions, even though producers and consumers wish it to be so and the project is called upon to change this. The Volunteer will support the project staff in investigating these legal issues for PDO/PGI of the Western Greece Region.
Contribute to the communication strategy of the project, will comment on it, and will support the procedure to update the project's website and will contribute to increase project awareness at social media.
Support translation in Greek language of the project's information and create Greek versions of the dissemination material and main achievements.
