IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "NORDIC BRIDGE"
Support the digital portal for collaborative projects to drive sustainability and innovation.
The Lapland University of Applied Science (LUAS) is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Nordic Bridge", under the Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic programme.
The objective of the Interreg project "Nordic Bridge" is to address challenges in the NPA region, such as brain drain, limited collaboration between academia and society, and under utilized research capacities. The project will create a challenge driven digital portal for collaborative projects to drive sustainability and innovation. The main result of this project is a cross-border challenge-driven collaboration portal, benefiting public, private, community sectors, and universities. A transnational approach and the Quadruple Helix Design Model will ensure broad collaboration and long-term impact.
The volunteer will support with the following activities:
Participate in internal and external project meetings;
Collect and document UI/UX-design improvement suggestions based on testing and stakeholder feedback;
Create communication materials: searching and identifying collaboration opportunities with the LUAS communication department, study counsellors, thesis advisors, and social media team to promote and announce the portal to students;
Reach out to local and national business organizations to promote the portal as a platform for research collaboration and opportunities.
Other information:
Financial support of: 40.12 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: Rovaniemi, Finland.
Start and duration: Starting Mid-August, for 6months.
Languages*: English (B2)

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 21.48 EUR to 92.96 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience, if needed.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.

Visa
Volunteers are responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate visa, residence permit, or any other authorization required to legally enter, reside, and carry out their volunteering activity in the hosting country. Once selected, volunteers are expected to complete all necessary administrative procedures, and submit the required documentation to the relevant authorities. For eligible volunteers relocating between countries participating in the IVY initiative, IVY will reimburse the costs associated with obtaining the required visa, and provide invitation letters and proof of financial means. However, the responsibility for identifying the correct visa, preparing the application, and completing the necessary formalities remains with the volunteer.
