IVY Project Partner for the Interreg project "Living Treasures"
Support the biodiversity of the upper and middle reaches of rivers and adjacent ponds.
Jihočeská Univerzita v Českých Budějovicích (University of South Bohemia) is looking for an IVY volunteer!
The volunteer will support the Interreg project “Living Treasures - Živé poklady bystřin a tůní / Lebendige Schätze in Flüssen und Teichen", under the Interreg Austria-Czechia programme.
The objective of the Interreg project "Living Treasures" is to support the biodiversity of the upper and middle reaches of rivers and adjacent ponds within the programme area. It includes compliance with the Water Framework Directive, expanding the shared knowledge base through examples of good practice in improving the condition of the aquatic environment, providing up-to-date information on its status, and promoting cooperation among expert teams from the Czech Republic and Austria working on the targeted river reaches, together with representatives of regional authorities and river basin management authorities.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities:
Contribute to the visibility and promotion of project activities and other information related to the project through social media, workshops, and other communication channels.
Support the communicate with local media and stakeholders.
Assist the organisation with field activities to gain a better understanding of the research work and acquire practical experience.
Other information:
Financial support of: 29.08 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).
Location: České Budějovice, Czechia
Start and duration: Starting in mid-September, for 6 months.
Languages*: Czech (B2) and English (B2).
*Please be aware that the languages mentioned are the minimum level of command required.

How we support you

Financial support
Every volunteer receives a stipend to cover expenses for food and accommodation. The amount provided allows them to live in similar conditions as the local population where they are volunteering, and ranges from 21.48 EUR to 92.96 EUR per day.

Insurance
IVY volunteers are fully covered with health, liability and accident insurance. AEBR arranges the policies for you for the entire duration of the experience, if needed.

Contribution to travel costs
Travel costs to relocate are covered by AEBR, based on lump sums according to the distance between the host organisation and your place of residence. The sum is allocated depending on the distance in km.

Visa
Volunteers are responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate visa, residence permit, or any other authorization required to legally enter, reside, and carry out their volunteering activity in the hosting country. Once selected, volunteers are expected to complete all necessary administrative procedures, and submit the required documentation to the relevant authorities. For eligible volunteers relocating between countries participating in the IVY initiative, IVY will reimburse the costs associated with obtaining the required visa, and provide invitation letters and proof of financial means. However, the responsibility for identifying the correct visa, preparing the application, and completing the necessary formalities remains with the volunteer.
